Skip changed my life. Period. The lessons--academic and life--that I learned from him both inside and outside the classroom continue to shape who I am today. I will miss him dearly, but am comforted to know that his inspiration and counsel will live on through me and the 1000s of other students that Skip so profoundly influenced. My thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with Joyce and the rest of Skip's family, and his many, many friends.

The service will be at 1:00 at the Amador Valley gym, which is appropriately named after him, on Sunday, December 7.

What an incredible mentor and man. God bless him and his family.

Good evening,

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that long-time Amador Valley High School teacher, coach, mentor, and colleague Skip Mohatt passed away last night. Skip has been battling lung issues in the ICU near his Auburn home for last few months. He died with dignity and with his large family by his side. His daughter Leslee is a 3rd Grade teacher at Mohr. For all us fortunate to know Skip over the years, he is man who will never be forgotten. His life an educator shows the potential influence that all of us in this profession can have on students. Information regarding a memorial will follow. Please feel free to forward this message to others who care for Skip and his family.

With thoughts of respect for Skip and support for his family,

Kevin

Few individuals are as supportitive, intelligent, committed, and inspirational as Skip Mohatt!! Without a doubt, he helped forge my sense of direction in life and added to my future a gift that survives his mortal existence. As an educator he has been unforgettable: the spirit of his exceptional presence will never leave us.

I wish for Joyce and Skip's children and grandchildren much peace and many blessings as they journey with this man's example and love through their own lives.

With deepest sympathy and condolences,
