This is becoming a pretty popular pastime in Pleasanton!
If you rob two banks, you get a free toaster!
Apparently, this guy hasn't heard about the recent economic crisis. WaMu probably wasn't able to give him much cash.

Who wears a nice shirt and tie when robbing a bank?

Un Oh...
"Who wears a nice shirt and tie when robbing a bank" - You don't suppose Bonnie & Clyde are still around. Naw..... Do you???
You don't suppose this guy could be hiding in the courthouse parking lot waiting to be "surrounded" by PPD's finest.....:) Sorry, that little red guy on my shoulder(as referenced to in another thread)wouldn't let me resist...:):)
I think I have too much time on my hands, I'd best find something productive to occupy my time...

Gee, if he didn't "mention or display a weapon" why didn't the teller just say, "NO"! If all it takes is a note...........

I would imagine that the tellers have been instructed simply to hand over money to anyone who threatens them. And rightly so, in my opinion. The safety of their employees should be a primary concern for the bank. Otherwise, they'd have trouble recruiting staff.
Someone in another thread asked why there was no security camera. There IS a camera and very clear pictures of the incident have already been posted on the web site here. I would hope that the criminal would be quickly apprehended, though it still depends, of course, on someone wth enough public spirit to identify him.
I'm still amazed by the courage of the "concerned citizen" who followed the Safeway bank robber, a few weeks ago, resulting in his arrest. I do hope that his actions reaped the reward they merited!

Stacey, perhaps someone who went shopping on their lunch hour and ran short on cash? *LMAO*

I'm curious about the camera that caught the pics (shown in the article). You'd think it was time to put the camera behind or next to the teller so a straight on pic can be obtained. Something from above does no good in an era when wearing a hat indoors is commonplace (and easily hides facial details from a camera working from above.)
Anyone know anything about camera placement?

I am appalled at the comments about this story. This is a very uneasy event for the employees at this bank, and you all are making light of it. You should all be ashamed of yourselves and maybe instead of making comments like this, maybe you should focus your talented conversation skills on the upcoming election. If you don't have anything nice to say, or intelligent for that matter, don't say it AT ALL.

Julie,
As discussed in the earlier thread about the earlier robbery, tellers are given explicit instructions what to do in case of a robbery. Banks do NOT want the liability of someone (an employee, a customer, or just an innocent bystander) getting hurt. Years ago, a colleague of mine was fired for resisting a bank robbery. Luckily, his job was the only casualty.

Concerned Citizen,
It's my opinion that those posting on this thread were not "making light" of the actual act of robbing the bank or the uneasiness of the employees after such an event. I'd venture to bet all those posting are glad no one was harmed and hope they never face a situtation such as the employees endured...
It's my impression the comments were directed at how easy it seems to rob a bank in Pleasanton these days and how unusual this bad guy's attire seemed, compared to the bank surveillance photos of other recent robberies...
If my comments caused any bank employee additional uneasiness, I apologize. It certainly wasn't my intent...

Its a shame they dont have a larger more clear photo posted.
Its strange the guy didn't even try to cover his face with glasses or wear non descrip clothing. Maybe he just got fired from his job or something and walked there.
