My sister is married to one! While we all supported her shifting to full-time work with her great employer after his employer left town (there was still one child at home full-time), it has turned into everyone's nightmare.
He did not interact with the child that was home. He refused to help the children with piano practice and homework. Mom still had to be the Room Mother, grocery shop, meal plan, and hire a housekeeper because he wouldn't do anything.
5 years later, both kids are in school fulltime and he still doesn't do anything but yak on the phone with his buddies. He has no interest in contributing to the home in any way (chores, work, etc). He won't make a move unless Mom is there to help.
On the other hand, years ago my SIL's spouse stayed home for several years with their 2 little ones and did an amazing job. As the stay-at-home parent, he enriched the children's lives, took care of the home issues, and did meal planning. He wasn't afraid to deal with the kids without his wife's help.
I know it can be done, but our family splits one win, one loss.

I have watched our "stay at home dad" neighbor get fatter an fatter as his wife works longer and longer hours. The kids roam the neighborhood and Dad could care less where they are. This guy has a housekeeper, gardner and two kids in school all day! He has no friends and complains that he is stressed. It's my opinion that men are meant to be in the work-world unless they have done something on their own to warrant their retirement. It's just not good for a man's self esteem. This is just my observation with one neighbor. An interesting topic.

Plutonians, Maria (aka Mario) is a sadist who delights in baiting posters. He likes to engage in power plays with other males, especially stay at home dads and makes a mockery of who they are if they express a a point of view that deep down frightens him. If you respond, he believes that he has sucker punched you, refers to you as "a big fish" and then attacks your relationship with your wife with derisive references. Maria (aka Mario) is one sick puppy!
A cheerleader for male child molesters, he expresses disbelief that Henry is guilty and he is quick to get dirty surly when he is intimidated by diverse opinion.
Maria (aka Mario) you are one importunate romantic oaf with unmanageable rage, and a tendency to create splits. In other words, you are one sick puppy!

If you haven't been following the Castlewood molestation threads, you wouldn't know that Mario started this topic as a means to harass poster "stayathomedad".

Wow! I had no idea that my initial posting was interesting enough to warrant a copycat.

I wonder if Embarcadero Publishing's other news sites (i.e. Palo Alto Online) have as much a problem with anonymous copycat writers as this site has.

Many of the posts that are signed Cholo are not mine.
