These two Pleasanton girls are incredibly courageous. They are trying to break a horrible pattern that has been going on for many years before they were born. It is obviously extremely hard for them to do this, look at the cover photo, take a look at their faces and their body language. It's clear that this is extremely painful for them. How many adults in Pleasanton have been molested and would publicize it for the benefit of children suffering today? Molestation victims need to break out of the shame that isolates them, and these two Pleasanton girls are trying to help them to that. They need our support, for the benefit of our children. How many Pleasanton residents are going to write a letter to the editor to support them?
I am beyond proud that I live in the same community as these girls.
Kristin McAfee thinks Pleasanton should be ashamed of that cover. I think it's the best cover the Pleasanton Weekly has ever done and probably will ever do.
