Castlewood in Cold Blood is a horrible 'title'. It doesn't deserve to be called a headline. A headline should just state the facts, "Couple Killed in Pleasanton Home", or something similar. "Castlewood in Cold Blood" is a title, aimed at creating a reaction of chills and thrills, like a crime novel.
I would be highly offended if a friend or relative of mine was a victim of a crime and the people at the Pleasanton Weekly worked to come up with an creative title, designed to chill us, or like the below, amuse us, for the report.
Remember when a woman was attacked by a criminal in her home while she was in bed at night, and the Pleasanton Weekly's 'title' for the crime report was 'Stranger in the Night'? Only a grossly insensitive person, to the point of needing help, would think it appropriate to label a crime report in such a sick manner.
Imagine if your child was the victim of that crime, and a Pleasanton Weekly staff member thought a creative title like 'Stranger in the Night' should accompany the crime report.
Would you think, "Hey, good one! Stranger in the Night, like the song, and my child was awakened by a stranger who broke into our house during the night. Clever!"

What about the "dignity" of the dead? And, they didn't even steal a hat from Macy's. So, why trash them with such an offensive article?

cholo for once, i agree. no-one should disrepsect the dead, especially immediately fallowing the murder. is there any word on what the alameda sherrifs department have done on this or is it 1850 and people can run around murdering others without getting caught. chances are the murderers weren't rocket scientist. how hard could it be to catch them.
