On Wednesday morning, my daughter and a friend were nearly hit by you after you dropped off your student near the basketball courts and then sped along the driving lane that borders Q building.
I realize you nust have been a hurry to get somewhere - work, back home, whatever.
However, my daughter and her friend were already halfway across the traffic lane while you were still dropping off your student. You went from being stopped to being in a huge hurry. Instead of waiting the few seconds it would have taken the girls to reach the safety of the sidewalk, you swerved around them, missing them by inches.
This is not the first time you and other parents have raced through the parking lot, and not the first time you've almost hit my child and possibly others.
I have already talked with Amador administration about this and suggested possible solutions to get drivers like you to slow down.
But I would like to appeal to you and all the other parents who are in such a hurry that you speed through the Amador student parking lot after dropping off your students. I'm sure your children are very precious to you - my child is precious to me too.
Please give my child and all the other kids who are trying to cross the traffic lane the right of way.
Also, please don't justify your actions by complaining the kids were dawdling. Even if that was the case (and it wasn't) on Wednesday, it doesn't justify your reckless behavior.
If there are other parents out there whose students have had the same experience, please take a few minutes to contact Amador administration.
Students, if this has happened to you, please also contact Amador administration, and if you are able to provide a description of the vehicle and/or license plate number, please also share this information.
Thank you for listening. It's not my intention to cause anyone offense, just my hope that this reminder will protect my child and others.
