Letter: Amador Class of '78 reunion a blast

Dear Editor,

After having spent a glorious four days back in Pleasanton (Oct. 9-12), we are compelled to write and thanks all those who welcomed home Amador Valley alums from the Class of '78.

The town has changed greatly in the 30-plus years since many of us departed, but the charm and warmth of our quiet little town remains. We hope you who make Pleasanton your home today realize and appreciate how special your "hometown" is.

From the staff at our home base at the Pleasanton Sheraton and gang at Gay 90's who hosted our post-game celebration to the staff at Sunol Golf Course who handled our Reunion Weekend Memorial Tournament without a hitch, to the wonderful administration, staff and parents of today's students at Amador, the 100-plus returning alumnae were truly welcomed home in stellar fashion.

Here's hoping it won't be five years before we do it again. Until then...cheers.

We truly appreciate your printing our letter of October 14 (printed November 14, 2008). However, while I understand the occasional need to "edit" for disparaging remarks, slander, etc., I am dismayed that you found it necessary to "snip" off our kudos to the Pleasanton Hotel, one of our town's longest standing and most respected establishments, and the top shelf, professional and unmatched manner in which they hosted the crown jewel event of our Reunion Weekend.

Here's hoping it won't take another month to put a proper band-aid on what I am certain was an unintentional boo-boo.

I'm glad you all had a good time but everyone around here knows that the Class of 1977 still rules!
