I've been going up and down Main Street on every break, looking for cold foods to eat, like ice cream and slush puppies. It has actually been a great opportunity to meet local businesspeople and to introduce myself to them and our store, which is where Rick's Picks had been located.

I've just been staying at home most of the time, because it is air-conditioned. And then when it cools down in the evening, which it always does, I enjoy spending time outdoors on my deck, enjoying the sounds of the neighborhood and nature.

We've been doing a lot of hiking, in the shade wherever we can find it, and jumping into any body of water available, whether it is a creek, a river or the Pacific Ocean. Doing this has really helped us to keep our cool.
