The competition will take place from 1-5 p.m. Sept. 30 at Parkview Assisted Living on Valley Avenue. Musicians are to perform one selection that is no longer than five minutes. The winners will receive the Rene and Gordon Smith Awards in music: $1,000 for first place; $500 for second; and $300 for third.
Visual artists in their applications will submit photos of three of their original art works that would be suitable for display at the competition. They must be prepared to discuss their art pieces, for no more than five minutes. The winners will receive the Phyllis and Bill Wentworth Awards in visual arts: $1,000 for first place; $500 for second; and $300 for third place.
Winners will be announced at the end of the competition.
