Harry Ronald Searle, age 68, passed away due to complications from heart surgery on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, Oregon. He was born on June 2, 1949 in Yuba City, California, to John and Opal Searle, as the middle of three children. He married Mindy Holderman in 1970, with which he had two children, Sean, and Heather. After graduating from Oregon State University, he began a long teaching career, focusing on English and Literature. After a divorce from Mindy and a move to California, Ron established himself as a teacher at Amador Valley High School in 1984. He met Sharon Duncan and her son Bryan in 1991, and soon married in Fremont, California. During his tenure at Amador Valley High School, Ron was involved in many activities. He was an advisor and mentor for the Drama club, a coach for the Swimming and Diving team, a coach for the Wrestling team, and a favored teacher by many. In his spare time he enjoyed carpentry work, and could often be found mending someone's fence, building a deck, constructing a shed, or even building a house. He loved spending time with his family, and once the children were grown, would often travel with his wife, Sharon, to visit the grandkids in Oregon, Georgia, Minnesota, and Arizona. His other love was his motorcycle. He would often plan biking trips with his older brother, John, up or down the west coast, stopping along the way to try new foods, take in the sights, collect rocks or driftwood, visit old friends, and just spend time with his siblings. Ron is survived by his children, Sean Searle, Heather Smith, and Bryan Duncan; and by his siblings John Searle, and Sharon Mount.
