Mike was born and lived most of his life here in Alameda County. Apart from a few years in San Francisco and a stint in Germany with the Army, Mike called Oakland, Hayward and finally Pleasanton home. Establishing a long career in the trucking industry, Mike split much of his free time between the golf course and the backyard with friends, neighbors, his many beloved dogs and a few cats. Country music, particularly Bonnie Raitt and Willie Nelson, were often heard in his company. He was the sort of fellow who loved talking to anyone, and never shied away from long, philosophical conversations. A smart man, a curious man, and a kind man. Those who spent more than a few moments with him loved him dearly and will miss him sorely. Mike passed peacefully in the company of loved ones and pets at home. He is survived by his family of Rita, Jessica, Carol, Tom, Zach, Kim and Otis.
