A Los Angeles woman who died Wednesday afternoon when her car plunged off westbound Interstate 580 has been identified by the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau.

Marilyn Binder, 76, died after her 2007 Toyota drifted off the roadway and down a 300-foot embankment between the westbound and eastbound sides of I-580 near Grant Line Road around 1:15 p.m., authorities said.

The car overturned in a small ravine and Binder died at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Alcohol does not seem to be a factor in the crash, CHP officials said. The CHP is asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call their Dublin office at 828-0466.
