Pleasanton police are on the lookout for a man who allegedly struck a pedestrian on the corner of Tom Burnett Lane and Johnson Drive last month, and they have asked the community to come forward with any information relating to the case.
The incident unfolded around 8:30 a.m. Dec. 21 near the intersection of Stoneridge Drive and Hopyard Road when a pedestrian was crossing Tom Burnett Lane. As they were crossing at a marked crosswalk, they were struck by a pickup truck that failed to yield, according to security footage acquired by investigators, police said.
After striking the pedestrian and knocking them to the ground, the driver stepped out of his truck to exchange information that police would later find to be false.
The man then entered a nearby security-controlled business by following an employee inside, but police have since found that the man did not appear to have legitimate business there or be associated with the business in any way.
The suspect is described by police as a white man, 30 to 38 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds, with medium length dark hair. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and dark colored pants.
His vehicle is believed to be a full-size, quad cab, 2016-2018 Chevrolet or GMC type pickup truck, dark in color.
Police officials say the pedestrian who was struck suffered from non-life-threatening injuries.
