The Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce’s political action committee Thursday endorsed Catharine Baker for re-election to the 16th State Assembly District.
In a statement by John Sensiba, chairman of the Chamber’s Business and Community Political Action
Committee BACPAC), Baker was recognized “for delivering on her promise to bring a fresh perspective and bi-partisan solutions to Sacramento at a time when needed most for public education, labor and environmental law, unfunded pension liabilities and economic development.”
As evidence of her success seeking bi-partisan solutions, Gov. Jerry Brown described Baker as, “one brave Republican” with her support of climate change legislation. Also, Brown signed nine of Baker’s bills into law during her first term.
“Baker is a champion for small business, strongly supporting the 40-hour work week vs. the eight-hour work day, holding the line on minimum wage, limiting BART workers capacity to strike and more,” the BACPAC statement reads.
“Catharine Baker deserves re-election to the 16th Assembly District,” the statement continues.
