John Cligny, a community manager with Association Management Company, has earned a specialty certificate and designation in High Rise Community Management from the California Association of Community Managers.

The CCAM is the only California-specific designation in the industry that certifies a community manager’s knowledge and expertise in California law, ethical standards and best practices in governing homeowners associations.

The Community Association Management Executive designation, which Cligny also holds, recognizes leaders who support a healthy, ethical and orderly community management industry and who commit to working to help shape the industry for the good, an industry representative said.

Cligny serves on the CACM board of directors, chairs the CACM Legislative Affairs Committee and is a CACM faculty member. As well as managing a portfolio of properties in West Oakland and San Francisco, he manages all HOA vendor contracts and specializes in reserve analysis, project management and maintenance contracts and serves as a board resource on upgrade, remodel and builder defect situations.
