The Allied Artists West “California Dreaming” exhibit has opened in the Firehouse Arts Center’s Harrington Gallery, featuring 21 professional South Bay artists who interpret their themes in their own way, ranging from abstract to realism, conceptual to fantas, and everything in between.

Painting demonstrations will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on some Saturdays as follows: Jan. 23: Jane Hofstetter, watercolor; Jan. 30: Teresa Ruzzo, pastel; and Feb. 20: Michael Rogan and Gary Coleman, acrylic.

Artworks in the showing include “Bright Uphill Climb” by Coleman, “Spring Fever” by Ruzzo, untitled painting by Karen Honaker and “All About Me” by Judy Welsh.

The exhibit runs through Feb. 20. The Firehouse Arts Center is located at 4444 Railroad Ave. in downtown Pleasanton. Call 931-4848.
