Two parents died in a single-vehicle collision on I-580 Sunday morning east of Altamont in unincorporated Alameda County, one of several accidents over the weekend.

The Altamont accident occurred on eastbound 580 west of Grant Line Road at 10:38 a.m.

Firefighters said the vehicle may have hydroplaned on pooling water before it rolled over multiple times and came to rest down an embankment.

The victims were identified Monday by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau as Lev Bun, 40, and Phy Phom, 35, both of Oakland.

Bun and Phom were both pronounced dead at the scene. Two children, ages 5 and 6, were transported to a hospital. One of them suffered traumatic

injuries.

Two Fairfield residents were killed in a three-car collision on I-680 in Fairfield Saturday night after their vehicle caught fire with them trapped inside.

California Highway Patrol officials said the incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on northbound 680 north of Gold Hill Road.

CHP officials said a Jeep Cherokee traveling at an unsafe speed for the conditions collided with a Lincoln Town Car, which subsequently hit a Toyota.

As a result of the collisions a 66-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman were trapped inside the Lincoln, which caught fire. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 56-year-old Walnut Creek man suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to a hospital, CHP officials said. A 51-year-old woman from Rio Linda suffered minor injuries and was released at the scene.

Drugs or alcohol are suspected to be involved in the crash.

A man who was killed in a traffic collision on I-580 in Livermore early Saturday morning was identified by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau Monday as 24-year-old Kaisaun Dunbar of Patterson in Stanislaus County.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at 5:54 a.m. on eastbound 580 at Vasco Road and involved three vehicles.

The California Highway Patrol reported a fatal crash on 164th Avenue in Castro Valley Sunday morning. The crash occurred at Foothill Boulevard.

A vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier, according to the CHP. The crash closed down 164th Avenue in both directions.

A man who was killed in a crash on I-880 in Fremont early Saturday morning was identified by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau Monday as 34-year-old John Sugiyama of Redwood City.

California Highway Patrol officials said the crash, which was reported at 2:10 a.m. Saturday, occurred on northbound I-880 near the Auto Mall Parkway off-ramp.

The California Highway Patrol Saturday morning reported a fatal collision on northbound I-280 in San Francisco when a vehicle struck a pedestrian at the Ocean Avenue on-ramp.
