It’s Bike to Work and Bike to School Day with thousands in Pleasanton and throughout of Alameda County riding their bikes today where they can.

Energizer stations have been set up around town starting at 7 a.m. where cyclists can stop by to enjoy refreshments and giveaways. They’re at:

Both BART stations

Stanley Boulevard at Shadow Cliffs 7:00 – 9:00 am

Foothill High School

Cyclists will receive free t-shirts, a Cycling Commute Companion and a canvas tote bag filled with cycling gear.

Cyclists who fill out a Bike to Work Day registration card will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win raffle prizes donated by local merchants.

Bike to Work and Bike to School Day is focused on motivating students and locally-employed commuters to hop on a bike instead of driving.

This year more than 100 schools have committed to participating in the program in Alameda County.
