Two men were arrested Thursday in connection with burglaries in San Ramon.

Derick Lewis, 26, of Livermore, was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of a dangerous drug and on an arrest warrant for residential burglary.

Daniel McGlaughlin, 31, was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, violation of probation, possession of burglary tools and on an arrest warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle, police said.

Police were investigating an auto burglary Thursday morning in San Ramon in the area of Marble Canyon Place when a resident told an officer she had seen two suspicious men in her neighborhood.

She gave the officer a description of the subjects and told the officer the men had fled the area on foot, police said.

Officers located a vehicle left behind in front of a residence by the suspects, who fled the area after being startled by the resident, police said.

Police located items in the vehicle that were reported stolen during an earlier theft, and police later discovered the vehicle had been stolen from Livermore.

Officers located Lewis and McGlaughlin on Crow Canyon Road near Camino Ramon and located items stolen from the earlier burglary and from another reported burglary in their possession, police said.

Police are investigating whether the suspects were involved in other recent burglaries in the area.
