Public art contributors Nancy and Gary Harrington will lead a free public art walk of the south end of downtown Pleasanton starting at 8:30 a.m. this morning.

The walking tour will start at the Pleasanton Civic Center parking lot, 200 Old Bernal Ave., and proceed through the public library plaza, Civic Park, Centennial Park and into downtown Pleasanton south of Neal Street. Free art walk brochures will be given.

This southern art walk will be repeated in June with a walk along northern downtown streets planned for May.

The Harringtons also will discuss the history of their Harrington Art Partnership and how the public, businesses, and organizations can assist in bringing more public art to Pleasanton.

For more information, call (925) 846-9757 or sign on to the Harringtons’ Web site at www.harringtonartpartnership.org/ or www.publicartarchive.org/pleasanton/

Walkers should allow about two hours for these events, which are held on the second Saturdays of the month.
