It’s not just housing prices that are going up in the Bay Area, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics figures released Tuesday.

The Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, which reflects prices including housing, rose 1.2% for the two months ending with February, BLS officials said.

Over the past year, prices have increased 2.4%.

Energy prices, specifically gasoline, accounted for a portion of the increase, rising 3.5% over the past two months. Food prices rose 0.2% during the same period, by comparison, according to the BLS.

Not surprisingly, shelter prices have also increased, 1.3% over the past two months and 4.1% over the past year, the BLS said.

An index measuring all items other than food and energy rose 1.2% over the past two months, and 2.9% over the past 12 months.
