The Tri-Valley Masters will host a three-day Pacific Masters Short Course Championships swim meet at Pleasanton’s Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center later this month.

The meet, which is expected to attract 700-800 swimmers and several thousand more coaches, parents and fans, will begin Friday, March 28 and continue through Sunday, March 30.

Participants will begin to arrive each morning by 7 a.m., with competition beginning at 8:30 a.m. and continuing to approximately 4:30 p.m.

City traffic authorities are working with the Tri-Valley Masters to develop plans to reduce impact on the neighborhoods surrounding the aquatic center, which is located at 4455 Black Ave. near Santa Rita Road.

Participants are being encouraged to carpool when possible. Overflow parking has been reserved on Saturday and Sunday at Gingerbread Preschool, Alisal Elementary School and Amador Valley High School parking lots.
