Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan (D-16th) will host an Affordable Care Act information session from 5-7 p.m. today at Las Positas College.

The event is being co-hosted by East Bay Agency for Children, East Bay Community Services, and Axis Community Health.

At the meeting, participants can learn about California’s Health Benefit Exchange, known as Covered California, which has begun enrolling eligible Californians for health insurance coverage that will begin in January 2014. Califorians who do not have health insurance from their employer or another government program, or for whom insurance is not affordable, are eligible and may qualify for help with premiums.

  1. Remind her that they lied. We were told that we can keep our own insurance policy if we are happy with it. They lied on this. Many people, like myself, have our current health insurance policies canceled on Dec 31 because Obamacare says they can no longer sell the insurance we want and we have to purchase insurance that Obamacare says we should have.

When the whole Obamacare debate was going on I did not have a big issue because I was told I can keep my own policy. They did a switcheraroo on all of us.

  2. Conservative…
You mean say to the sheep attending the meeting, “We told you so, but you called us racists and terrorists!”

I guarantee the sheep are still lining up to be sheared and Buchanan will have the shears!
