Allegiant Travel Co. will launch new nonstop air service between Stockton and Honolulu and Maui, Hawaii in November.

Allegiant spokeswoman Sabrina LoPiccolo said the new service from Stockton Metropolitan Airport is part of a Hawaii service package that also includes Santa Maria, Bellingham, Wash., and Eugene, Ore.

“We are pleased to expand our presence in the islands with nonstop service to Maui and additional nonstop service to Honolulu from more of our existing markets,” stated Andrew C. Levy, Allegiant Travel company president.

“This is especially exciting because it comes shortly after announcing initial service to Hawaii from Las Vegas and Fresno,” he added. “We anticipate the new service will be very popular, especially when customers take advantage of great deals when bundling their air, hotel and car rental.”

Seats are limited. Fares are one-way and not available on all flights, and must be purchased by May 21, 2012, for travel by Jan. 15, 2013.

Reservations can be made on the company’s website at allegiant.com or by calling the company’s travel experts at 702-505-8888.

Founded in 1997, Allegiant also offers hotel, car rental and vacation services.

  1. I see the Pleasanton Weekly has shifted it’s content focus away from community news and towards corporate advertising. Keep it relevant Jeb Bing.

  2. I see this as newsworthy, in that “who knew” Stockton had an airport with commercial flights. True, this article quotes a lot from the airline’s press release. So maybe better if it had said, “Stockton airport now has commercial flights to someplace other than Las Vegas.” Which I think is true.

  3. I hope the flight is non-stop between the mainland and Hawaii. Not a whole lot of places to land between here and Hawaii unless you want to land on an aircraft carrier.

  4. The deals available on Allegiant can be very attractive, if you like to travel light and no-frills. I took the Stockton to Vegas route with Allegiant. There are fees for everything, including carry-on bags. There is a fee for making a reservation online, which you can avoid by making a reservation at the airport.
But if you want to do that, make sure you show up at the airport when they are open, they have very limited hours, around the times they have departing flights.
Stockton doesn’t have much in the way of transit, parking, or rental car options, so get someone to drop you off and pick you up.

  5. Jim is correct, Allegiant has lots of fees, except when they first start operating a route. My Oakland to Bozeman MT ticket was $89. EW with no baggage fees. Now that that route has been operating for a little while, the ticket price has increased and they have added those huge baggage fees.

  6. Allegiant’s flights are not only cheap, even with all the fees, but having a direct flight to places like Billings or Bozeman Montana is amazing. Flying through Denver or Salt Lake is time consuming and often poses weather delays and canceled flights.
