Congressman Jerry McNerney (D-Pleasanton) declared victory yesterday in his bid for re-election to a third term in Congress even as thousands of ballots are still being counted and with a winning margin of less than 1 percent over his Republican challenger David Harmer. 1. Well, no big surprise…right? Another liberal pulls one out in California. What’s going to be really fun to watch now is the State go to the Fed’s with a tin cup in their hands as we spiral towards oblivion, and then watch as the the new Republican congress laughs in California’s face. No more bailouts California…who has the plan now? You Gov Brown? You (great hair) Newsome? McNerney? What a joke you all are…the Teachers, ha, that’s really a joke? Get a Happy Meal for your kids now while you still can…the State’s priorites are to run your lives while the make you go broke, get ushed to 15% unemployment while we watch middle USA recover. Congratulations tp the rest of the USA (excluding NY and MA of course)…you finally woke up, of course we here in a once great California will continue to live in squaller…I don’t blame you for letting us pay for our sins…we made our bed…now…

  2. The only good thing about the libs being in charge is that I’ve made a boat load of money by investing in gold. I bought Gold back in 2008 when it was around $700 an ounce and it’s doubled since then. Thanks for making my 401k nearly double to $750,000 when most are losing or only gaining 3-5%. I advise everyone to buy commodities now before they go much higher in price. The only problem is that what the Libs are doing is hurting the majority if the population.

  3. Why Not Then, you seem so disenfranchised with the ‘Golden State’, so why don’t you move to the middle of the country which you claim is recovering. I’m sure you can find some lovely homes for a reasonable price, and perhaps some neighbors who share your same views. It doesn’t sound like California is right for you. Be all means, we don’t want to keep anyone here who is so miserable.

  4. Hey CA Native,

I am worried more about you “litte” people. I have done quite fine thank you. Personally I am insulated for, well…just about ever from anything this bunch of far left extremist can do, but then we have only been in CA four years now. So as long as I can head out to Napa and buy my $100 a bottle Silver Oak and enjoy the place up in Tahoe and fly down to San Diego for some beach time, I will sit here and laugh my %^&s off while it all comes crumbling down around us. My guess? Your a teacher, or a union memeber. One who is bleeding CA dry. You irresponsible government union folks, of which there are a zillion in CA crack me up, you get to retire at 55 with 65% of your salary while the rest of us work until we are in our early 70’s, you stand and feed at the breast of the State Government…and you complain, complain and then complain some more. Your survival depends on the Jerry Brown’s and Barbara Boxer’s of the world. No, don’t run folks like me off from CA, we are the fools paying your freight. You contribute very litte and take a hell of a lot.

  5. It is truly amazing that there is teacher bashing even in this thread. I am worried if you actually believe that teachers are destroying this state.

I’m thoroughly confused though, you say you have a place in Tahoe, buy $100 bottles of wine, often fly to San Diego, yet you HAVE to work until you are 70 just to retire. Maybe its sarcasm or maybe you are just stupid. Its hard to tell from your post.

  6. The counted more votes and as expected our Fine Congressman Jerry McNerney is keeping his lead. It is not possible for Harmer to win.

    Jerry McNerney (Dem) 111,338
    47.9%
    David Harmer (Rep) 109,581
    47.0%

  7. All you “Native” people, chill out. I was born in Stockton, graduated from Livermore schools. Graduated SJSU in accounting. Now that I have established my credentials, let me express my opinion.

Mike, a resident of the Del Prado, woopie. I invested in Gold when Reagan was President. Gold changes through market conditions on a macro level. Gold has NOT doubled since you purchased it. It’s increased by your lousy purchase price of 71%. My gold has up’d by 1600%. So, let’s stop the bragging. At this time, it’s a greater-fool that buys gold TODAY. If you really think it’s that bad, buddie, then gold will not work. Barter will. Hint-hint.

For California Native that states: “head out to Napa and buy my $100 a bottle Silver Oak” I can’t believe you wrote this. Any fool who pays that much better be paying for AT LEAST a 15-year bottle kept WAY BACK in the caves. BTW, I have a bridge-to-nowhere to sell you.

Also, I have a comment for California Native that likely will be censored by PW, you are an pompousness a-s.

  8. “NO conceeding, ” states “ust wait it out…..not gentlemanly to try to scare your oppoment into conceeding” First, check out spell-checker. What is “oppoment”?

Representative McNerney “scare” someone? Just proves you have no idea the character of our US Representative. Unless you consider intellect for “scary.” I met with him and we both disagree on an issue. He was honest, clear in thought and not patronizing.

Better than Pombo, who, to my knowledge, never showed up in the Tri-Valley.
