  1. Lee,

The only thing that stinks is your thinly veiled racism. If you don’t like the smell, don’t shop there. Maybe you can move to Utah or Alabama so you don’t have to worry about Asian markets.

  2. “Many of the packaged products came from Taiwan, Vietnam, or China.”

So? Walmart sells all this stuff manufactured in China and I don’t see you complaining.

  3. Ranch 99 seafood is probably fresher than other markets. You can’t get live fish or crab at other super markets.

btw, those supermarket also sells items from Taiwan or China, just go to their “Asian” aisle, and you’ll see some items at much higher price.

  4. Funny thing is have any of you been to Lucky on los positas lately? Well the fish area smells like fish too.. go figure…I bet the fish there isn’t as fresh because it doesnt sell as fast as the fish at Ranch99

  5. Nice clean store, friendly helpful staff, fresh produce, good prices, great food court and the fun of shopping somewhere that provides an opportunity to buy items not found elsewhere.
Yes, there’s a smell of fish – what else would anyone expect of any market that sells fresh fish?
99 Ranch Market is a welcome addition to Pleasanton.

  6. Lee, the smell in Dublin Ranch 99 Market is also strong but they are not catering to plain-vanilla folks like us. Best to go to Safeway, et al but, do stay away from the butcher case… smells like Americans… 🙂

Also, you may wish to avoid SF’s Fisherman’s wharf. Smells like crabs and sea lions…
