Pleasanton Public Library needs volunteers for its Homebound Service, which provides homebound residents with library books, videos and CDs to community residents. Also, the library hosts the Pleasanton Reads Project that needs volunteer tutors to provide one-on-one instruction in both basic literacy and English as a second language to residents over 18. Students and tutors usually meet once per week at a mutually convenient time and place. Tutoring and all necessary materials are free of charge.
