A 70-year-old Livermore man who disappeared while hiking in an

East Bay park Wednesday has been found, a dispatcher with the East Bay Regional Park District said this morning.

District headquarters received a report of a missing hiker in Ohlone Regional Wilderness at about 8 p.m. Wednesday, the dispatcher said.

The man had been hiking with a friend into Ohlone from Sunol

Regional Wilderness in southern Alameda County when he became fatigued and could not continue to hike out.

His friend left the man to get help and authorities began a search

that continued into this morning. Teams from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office assisted park police in the search.

  1. “His friend left the man to get help”:

This sounds odd. At what point would the man’s friend have left him and why did it take until this morning to find the guy? Why not last night?

  2. Cholo, where were you at about 8pm Wednesday when this fellow Livermore man went missing?

Why don’t you like Qwerty’s curiosity into the matter?
