The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.0 struck late Tuesday in southern Monterey County near King City.
According to the USGS, the earthquake struck at about 11:50 p.m. and had a depth of 3.6 miles.
The quake was centered 11 miles southwest of King City and 14 miles south of Greenfield, according to the USGS.
