The Corral Hollow fire burning along the border of Alameda and San Joaquin counties is fully contained, a fire spokeswoman said last night.

At the same time, fire officials today pushed up their estimate of when the Lockheed Fire will be contained in the Santa Cruz Mountains after good weather helped firefighters get a handle on the blaze this morning

In the Corral Hollow blaze, fire crews spent Sunday battling flames burning across about 12,500 acres between Tracy and Livermore, according to Alameda County Fire Department spokeswoman Aisha Knowles.

There haven’t been any evacuations and no structures have been damaged or threatened, she said.

Firefighters are beginning the rehabilitation process, Knowles said. Crews are also assessing any damage from the flames.

The fire started Thursday afternoon at Corral Hollow east of Livermore and spread to the southeast, consuming grass, brush and oak woodland.

Meanwhile, Cal Fire spokesman John Buchanan said firefighters hope to have the Lockheed fire in the Santa Cruz mountains contained by Thursday and controlled by Aug. 30.

“The weather is really holding up well,” Buchanan said. “The guys out there are considering Mother Nature our friend right now.”

He said that as of 7 a.m. today, the fire was 65 percent contained as 2,165 firefighters from agencies across California battled the blaze. The fire has consumed 7,017 acres since it started burning in the Santa Cruz Mountains on Wednesday.

Fifty structures are still threatened. Two structures were damaged in the fire’s early stages but no other damage has been reported, Buchanan said.

Five people have been injured, but none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.

  1. The title is “Corral Hollow fire east of Livermore now 100% contained
Progress also being made in efforts to extinguish fire in Santa Crus mountains”
As far as the Corral Hollow firw how many acres where burned? It says what was vurning on Sunday but this is Tuesday. It tells of the Lockheed fires size. The big parts of the Corral Hollow fire is A) L. Livermore Labs site 300(I think thats the number). B) Carangie motorcycle park. C) How and who started it. D) How big it is.
Bonus points would be for who reported it first and what they saw where.
I know more about the S.C. fire and only really know what street the C.H. fire started on after reading this.
