Hurricane played blues, classic and contemporary rock for a large crowd at last Friday’s Concert in the Park series, sponsored by the Pleasanton Downtown Association. Hurricane was sponsored by La Lu European Mobile Spa and Jeweler’s Gallery.
As the concert ended, special gifts were announced in a drawing of coupons concertgoers entered from Friday’s Pleasanton Weekly. Alisha Perdue, event coordinator for the Pleasanton Downtown Association, distributed the gifts that were announced by Gina Channell-Allen, president of the Weekly.
The gifts included $25 Downtown Giftcards, won by R.C. Alexander and Brian Swartz; a $25 gift card from Pasta’s Restaurant that went to Bill Melo; a $200 off gift certificate from Miracle Auto Paint, won by Rose Gilmore and H. Gaileck; a free oil, lube and filter change from Rynick Tires, won by Bill Beunett; and 30 percent off spa services at Image Salon, won by Mary Higher.
Other gifts included a silver jewelry box from Hacienda Business Park, won by Mary K. Riebolt; two tickets for the price of one gift certificate from the Tri Valley Repertory Theatre, won by Mike Bianco; free tax planning this year from Fox & Associates, won by Russ Emerson; an Elastiderm Décolletage System ($95 value) from Allergy &Dermatology Clinic, won by Susan Miller; a $20 gift certificate from Alexandria’s Flowers, won by Bob Alexander; and 15 percent off any plumbing job or repair by Model Plumbing, won by Teresa Duarte.
This Friday, the Crisis will play classic rock and honkey tonk/southern rock and blues at the concert, held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lions Wayside Park, corner of First and Neal streets. The band will be sponsored by the Alameda County Fair.
A drawing is held every week at approximately 8:15 p.m. for prizes donated by downtown merchants. Drawing forms can be found in the Pleasanton Weekly, the media sponsor for the Concerts in the Park, for that night’s drawing.
