Police believe the slashing of several car tires in the northeastern part of Pleasanton happened in a half-hour timeframe in the early hours Friday.

Twenty-seven reports were filed with the Pleasanton Police Department. The victims live in a neighborhood near the end of Stoneridge Drive in the Mohr-Martin neighborhod. Reports show victims from the following streets: Iberis Cout, Snowdrop Circle, Dennis Drive, Red Pine Court, Tangelo Court, Arronia Court, Daylily Court, Martin Avenue, Carrisa Court, Nicole Avenue, Cameron Avenue, Equestrian Drive and Diablo Court.

Lt. Darrin Davis said the tires were likely punctured with a knife and that officers are still developing the reports. He also said there were no witnesses, which gives police little information to develop suspects.

Anyone with information regarding these vandalisms is encouraged to call the police department at 931-5100.

  1. could this have anything to do with the Stoneridge Drive extension issue? hmm…..IF so, our community is stooping to a new low.

  2. Dang, that’s where I walk my dog every night. Haven’t seen anything remotely suspicious, or any police presence to speak of.

  3. doubt it has to do with Stoneridge Ext. We had a half-witted moron
go thru our area and the next neighborhood last week spray painting nemo on walls and utility box. Assume that was the vandalism reported in the Weekly

  4. There’s been grafitti spray painted in that area also — on the sound walls along Stoneridge between Santa Rita and Dennis Drive. The police really need to step up their nighttime patrols of this area.

  5. Perhaps a Neighborhood Watch could come into play. You might want to carry a camera when walking your neighborhood. Don’t be afraid to call out to someone you feel may be doing something they shouldn’t…. Be tactful but make sure that they know you see them. Shout out something like “Hey there, got the time?” 🙂

  6. Wonder if the kids at Foothill High are talking about this incident? Sounds more like a bunch of kids trolling around town on Friday night. Just the sort of activity (coupled with drinking/smoking pot) that a bunch of kids would do impulsively “for fun”.

Parents–do you know where your kids were on the night of this incident? Do you realize you will be fined for their damages?

  7. anne. please get your facts straight before you point fingers. making such an uneducated judgement makes you look absolutely stupid. why would you say “coupled” with drinking and smoking? i’m sure that at least one time in life, someone has told you not to jump to conclusions. i think perhaps you have absolutely no idea what you’re speaking about; i just don’t want you to embarrass yourself further.

  8. Lori-
Ignorance is blissful isn’t it? Marijuana use in our community is at all all time HIGH among teens! (no pun intended, haha) And this is highly potent medical grade marijuana we’re talking about. Not the stuff you probably smoked in high school, Lori.
Have YOU attended any of the seminars that the Pleasanton Police have offered recently? That is where I gained MY information and “jumped to conclusions” with my statement. My comment was that this is just the sort of activity that impulsive teens under the influence, with impaired judgment, would think is “entertaining”. (Ever watch an episode of “Jackass”?) Or, do you actually think that these tires were slashed by an adult person who has a bone to pick with their neighbors? Or perhaps the proposed parcel tax has them frustrated and angry?
Please, Lori, stop embarrassing YOURSELF and face reality!

  9. Ladies please! Let’s not argue and insult each other. Truth is, this happens in every neighborhood, in every town in any given year. Most likely, it is young teens with nothing to do. Under the influence? Maybe, maybe not. We’ll never know. All we can do is put our cars in at night and install some good lighting and hope the police can step up their patrol. Some teens lie to their parents about where they are going at night. We all want to trust our kids but truth is sometimes they do things we never thought they would do. We do our best but sometimes they are just impulsive and even though they know it’s wrong, they do it anyway. Hopefully, there will be talk at school on Monday. To all of the victims, sorry for your loss. Pleasanton is not immune from crime just because it’s a nice city.

  10. This is a very dangerous activity to pursue. One never knows when the vehicle owner may suddenly appear with a 32oz. Louisville Slugger, or, maybe something that can create even more pain…

Louisville Slugger making contact with a knee presents intense pain and suffering. Possibly long-term if applied with sufficient force…

  11. Ahem…
The incident happened on the East side of Stoneridge. Although there is a grade school less than 300 feet from this street I don’t think that the kids had anything to do with it.
Look for more crime to come once the Stoneridge Highway is built though.

  12. I wounder if anyone in the neighborhood has a security camera that could have the perps. on video? If not seeing them in action at least a lead as to who was in the area at the time this happened.

  13. I’ve walked my dog every night in that area for the past 6-7 years. Never seen anything more dangerous than a skunk. My guess is this was done by outside visitors, not locals.

  14. What is a 17 year old doing on the street in the late hours, on a school night? He should have been at home doing homework. Hopefully the parents will get the kid some professional help.

  15. fist off mairjuanna is good it doesnt make you wanna to hurt people/tires. I think its because the kid is trying to be a gangsta. But sooner or later young kids will realize that they live in Pleasanton and there isnt really any form of ghettos or poverty around. So little fake bitches goto stockton and get the taste of the real world DONEZZZZZZO CUZZZZZZZZZZO FSU out

  16. You FSU people are so lame. If the real FSU found out what your doing you would be so screwed. Look it up on the internet I’m sure you’ll find some of the things they would do to posers like you guys

  17. FIRST OFF FSU ISNT TRYING TO CLAIM PART OF THE REAL FSU GANG AND THAT SHITS OVER ANYWAYS. AND THE TAGGINGS AROUND PLEASANTON WASN’T FSU EITHER. FUCK IT

  18. Although I had both my cars parked in the garage, five of my neighbors had one or more tires slashed.
I’m worried that the crimes in this area will get worse once the extension is built. If someone wants to commit a crime they will have an even easier way of getting in and out of Pleasanton.
By the way we also had graffiti on our walls.
