Scholarship Corner: Tri-Valley retired teachers award students pursuing career in education

Five winners receive $2,500 scholarship to support their studies

As part of the California Retired Teachers Association (CalRTA) Tri-Valley Division 85, the Tri-Valley Retired Educators' Scholarship Fund awarded five $2,500 scholarships to students from the Tri-Valley who are planning to become educators in their future careers.

Each of the scholarship recipients submitted an application with an essay explaining their passion for this career. The students awarded the Future Teachers Scholarship are Catrina Currier, Steve Furtado, Lauren Higgins, Sophia Huff and Sarah Robinson.
