It’s time to catch up with East Bay Athletic League wrestling as our qualifying athletes competed for North Coast Section championships this past weekend, shooting for spots in the CIF State Wrestling Championships.

The CIF meet is set for February 23-25 at the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield. Only the top two wrestlers in each weight class at NCS qualified to advance to state.

The NCS Boys meet took place at James Logan High, and as usual it was packed with great action and a full house of fans.

Here are the EBAL wrestlers that advanced to the finals, thus guaranteeing themselves spots at state.

106 pounds: Manuel Martir of De La Salle took the title with a fall at 5:13 in the match over Chulh-tsa’a Bates of Del Norte.
