Purchase framed serigraph cells of popular and beloved comics as well as midcentury framed prints at Bothwell Arts Center's Classic Comic Art Sale this weekend.
From Friday through Sunday, view and buy comic prints donated to the Bothwell Arts Center by retired Tri-Valley pediatrician Bruce Gach, who displayed the pieces on a rotating basis in his offices over the years.
Among the pieces for sale include prints of Woody Woodpecker, Bugs Bunny, Dagwood, Betty Boop and Garfield. Additionally, colorful and framed prints created in the 1950s and '60s from arts such as Risaburo Kimura and George Csató will be available for purchase.
The Classic Comic Art Sale runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2466 8th St. in Livermore.
Admission to the sale is free, and art pieces will be priced to sell. Proceeds benefit Bothwell Arts Center, which serves as an arts incubator providing rentable classroom, rehearsal, live performance, event and studio rental space for individuals and groups.
