The Livermore Amador Valley Garden Club is partnering with the California Horticultural Society to present Dan Hinkley as its monthly speaker, at 6:30 p.m. Monday (April 19) via Zoom and open to the public.

Hinkley, an award-winning teacher, nurseryman, naturalist and gardener, will share his experiences creating a 6.5-acre garden, Windcliff, surrounding his home on a bluff overlooking Puget Sound, using plants from western North America, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile and China. The hour-long presentation will include mistakes and miracles he found along the way.

Hinkley is committed to solid and sustainable horticultural practices, and raising awareness of the diversity of plant life on Earth as well as the magic and mysteries of our natural world.

The Livermore Amador Valley Garden Club is meeting online due to COVID 19 but continues to support projects and gardens of community benefit. At this time, Eden Garden and Clare’s Fare Garden are on their way to providing ample produce for the local food banks this summer, the garden club reports.
