Livermore police investigating suspicious death at hotel

Young man found dead in room; investigation in early stages

The Livermore Police Department has deemed a 24-year-old man's death as suspicious after he was discovered unresponsive in a hotel room on the north side of the city on Sunday afternoon, according to a department spokeswoman.

The man's name and city of residence have not yet been released.

Livermore police responded to the SenS Extended-Stay Residence hotel on Airway Boulevard, just north of Interstate 580, around 3:50 p.m. Sunday for a welfare check on a room, according to Officer Taylor Burruss.

Officers arrived to find a 24-year-old man deceased in his room. There were no obvious signs of criminal activity or a medical emergency, so his death was deemed suspicious, according to Burruss.

The department's criminal investigations unit has taken over the case, and the investigation is still in the early stages. The results of the initial autopsy report in the coming days are expected to reveal more information about the circumstances, Burruss said.

That's a shame! Hope it wasn't anything malicious, although seeing as how he was so young (24y/o) I'm guessing it wasn't from 'natural causes'
