Will you be posting the individual facilities with COVID-19 cases as the State
DPH has done?

Testing doesn’t help businesses and is backward focused, given that the person was exposed in the past and even contact tracing is going back in time. Therefore, number of cases “going down” to “open up” is ridiculous with a virus that has wide community spread which this virus does. It’s common sense that the more tests you do, the more cases you will have. Our hospitalizations have decreased, and the Mayor needs to put out a plan to OPEN up ASAP. The safest way to open up more businesses and industries is to assume AlLL citizens are positive, and require social distancing and masks in facilities with regular sanitation and possibly temp checks. Give the power back to business owners to incorporate the safety measures, and then LET them open for business.

Medicines were taken by choice, nothing was forced on any patient.
Patient new the risks. Cause of death is not from medications.

"History is not going to be kind to this guy....:"

From the article:

"The results were from an observational study of outcomes and were not part of a randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial, which is the gold standard for testing drugs."

You claim to be a scientist, and then not note this important opinion on the test method?

Things that make you go hmmmm....

@DKSHK

A clinical trial involving a blind test including a placebo would have been even better, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this appears to have been a fairly thorough study which included a control group that was not treated with any drugs. That's much more than what individual doctors with no training at all in performing clinical trials such as the celebrated Dr. Vladimir Zelenko did in their hydroxychloroquine tests on coronavirus patients, but strangely neither you nor Donald Trump nor anyone else among the right-wing seems to have any problems with the fact that those "pro-hydroxychloroquine" doctors didn't perform randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials and didn't even pretend to be doing rigorous, professional studies. Nor did Donald Trump or Dr. Vladimir Zelenko address the serious side effect of enhanced risk of cardiac arrest seen in approximately 10% of patients treated with hydroxychloroquine.

The truth about the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of hydroxychloroquine against coronavirus will become more and more apparent as further studies come out. If you want to double-down on your faith that Donald Trump is right about hydroxychloroquine being some kind of miracle cure for coronavirus, you go right ahead.

Mr. Scientist,

It was "observational".

Geez.

As a mere trained "engineer", even I know a crock when I see one.

I worked with numerous drugs...Plaquenil (aka Hydrochloroquine) has been used by Rheumatology MDs for decades for inflammation, and it’s safety profile is approved by FDA and is well documented. Anecdotal VA observations are dismissed by the medical community because they are already a sick population with many pre-existing conditions.

Even Trump and Fox News are backing off of their previous enthusiasm for hydroxychloroquine as a cure for coronavirus. I guess that you didn't get the memo.

The studies by "pro-hydroxychloroquine" doctors such as the celebrated Dr. Vladimir Zelenko were observational studies.

Is it just me or the case by city is not loading from county dashboard? It seems like our number is stabilized, which is good news.

"The studies by "pro-hydroxychloroquine" doctors such as the celebrated Dr. Vladimir Zelenko were observational studies."

This study is probably the worst of study designs. Retrospective analysis, coupled with no stated methods as to how patients were assigned one of three treatment arms.

Its absolutely preposterous and as an alleged "scientist", you should know better.

Just stop! You have no idea what you're talking about.

And by the way, ALL of the observed were sick enough to be admitted to the hospital in the first place.

No small data point there, eh?

Final quote from the study:

"It may be proven true in subsequent, prospective trials, we should understand proponents of the use of hydroxychloroquine in various combinations with other drugs all suggest that the drug is most effective when USED EARLY, well before patients "qualify" for hospitalization.”

Emphasis mine.

Please DO YOUR RESEARCH, Mr Scientist.

Dan
