An unexpected vacancy on the Dublin Human Services Commission has city officials looking to fill the empty seat by next month. The term for the vacant position ends in December 2020.

The Human Services Commission is an advisory group to the Dublin City Council and city staff, comprised of five community members that serve four-year staggered terms.

Members provide grant funding recommendations for the Human Services Grant Program and the Federal Community Development Block Grants program, and also meet with the Livermore and Pleasanton Human Service Commissions to discuss unmet needs outlined in the Tri-Valley Human Services Needs Assessment.

All appointments are recommended by the mayor of Dublin, and are subject to confirmation by the city council at a meeting in March.

Dublin residents interested in serving may do so by downloading or submitting an application at the city’s website, https://dublin.ca.gov/1962. Applications are also available at the Dublin Library, Dublin Senior Center, Civic Center or by calling the City Clerk: 833-6650.

Applications must be sent to the City Clerk’s office, 100 Civic Plaza, by Feb. 21 at 5:00 p.m. Postmarks will not be considered.
