Four-month renovation complete at popular park amenity

The Mission Hills Park slide -- among the city's most popular park amenities -- reopened to the community last weekend after being closed for renovations for nearly four months.

The refreshed design focused on replacing the 30-year-old single slide (which had been difficult to repair and maintain) with two slides side-by-side, an interactive "scramble wall" path to improve accessibility and a new staircase.

The total cost of the slide renovations, including design and installation, was approximately $385,000, paid for from the city's park median and renovation fund, according to city officials.

Mission Hills Park is located at 600 Junipero St.

This town does a better job with parks than any city I have seen, having moved around for about 20 years. Well done Pleasanton. Off the charts.

Went up to take a look, its pretty impressive and looks like fun, although I didn't try it. I'll take my grandkids when they come to visit.
