Art showings in Bankhead Gallery

"Tulip Spent" by Desiree Skatvold is one of the artworks on display in a new exhibit that opened this week in the Bankhead Gallery in downtown Livermore.

Running through March 2, "Living Large" is an exhibit that features large-format, two-dimensional works that revel in lush abstracts from seascapes, nature and figurative images, to non-representational works that celebrate "joie de vivre," organizers said.

Also, a separate solo exhibit, "Sea Change" by award-winning Livermore artist Linda Ryan, is being shown in the Founder's Room within the gallery.

An opening reception for both exhibits will be held from 1-3 p.m. next Saturday (Jan. 18) in the gallery at the Bankhead Theater at 2400 First St. in Livermore.
