Pleasanton teen missing since New Year's

15-year-old Michael Gritzai is said to frequent downtown Pleasanton

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Pleasanton youth who disappeared just after midnight on New Year’s Day.

According to officials, Michael Gritzai, 15, left his residence in rural Pleasanton and his current whereabouts are unknown. Police said he "knows how to use public transportation and frequents downtown Pleasanton.”

Gritzai was last seen wearing a maroon hooded windbreaker, black t-shirt and black Dickie pants. He’s described as white, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 145 lbs, and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who sees Michael or that has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Alameda County Sheriff's Office at 510-667-7721.

It's a hard cold world for a young boy out there...I sincerely pray he is just checking out to regroup with a friend....God bring him home safely. :(

Where did he disappear from? Was he at a New Year's Eve party? Did he disappear from his home? I hope he comes home safe and soon.

@jennifer-He left his home shortly after the new year rang in, article says he was alone. Sounds like an unfortunate argument and a rash decision to leave.
