The fourth annual Movember Shave-off Party, to raise money for cancer research, takes place from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday at the Livermore Barber Shop, 2027 Third St. in downtown Livermore.
The event begins with a "shave-off" at 9 a.m. and will also include a cornhole tournament, a taco truck lunch and a firefighters' raffle to benefit the American Cancer Society.
This event also serves as kickoff for the Alameda County Fire Department/ International Association of Firefighters Local 55 Toy Program drive; attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped toy for the toy program bins.
Cornhole registration is $20 per team and firefighters' hats and other apparel will also be available for sale.
The event is set to go on rain or shine. The Alameda County Fire Department, the International Association of Firefighters Local 55, Muertos Coffee and the Livermore Barber Shop are all sponsors.
Movember is a worldwide charity that specifically raises money for and awareness of men's health issues, including prostate and testicular cancer, and suicide prevention and mental health services.
