Honoring veterans

Pleasanton's annual parade pays tribute to those who served

Residents lined Main Street last Sunday to honor military veterans during the 23rd annual Tri-Valley Veterans Day Parade, a celebratory procession that featured local veteran service organizations, community groups and civic leaders.

The post-parade ceremony highlighted the 100th anniversary of the American Legion.

This year's event, like its predecessors, was held in advance of the formal holiday so local veterans and officials can represent Pleasanton in other celebrations on Veterans Day itself -- which will be on Monday (Nov. 11).
