Popular author presenting in Pleasanton


Towne Center Books welcomes Lisa See to introduce her latest novel, "Island of Sea Women," at its monthly Coffee and Conversation series, at 11 a.m. next Wednesday (April 10) at Lynnewood United Methodist Church, 4444 Black Ave.

The book is a classic Lisa See story of women's friendships and the larger forces that shape them. Her bestselling titles include "The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane," "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan," "Peony in Love," "Shanghai Girls," "China Dolls" and "Dreams of Joy."

The event costs $5; make reservations at the store at 555 Main St., at or pay at the door. The book also will be available at the event.
