For the entire month of March, sub lovers have been donating to Jersey Mike’s Subs to raise money for local charities, and now it is the Tri-Valley’s opportunity to join in on the philanthropic spirit Wednesday, when the sandwich shop raises money to support California fire fighters.
On March 27, 12 Bay Area locations -- including those in Pleasanton, Dublin and Danville -- will be donating 100% of the day’s sales to the California State Firefighters’ Association (CSFA) Historical Society, as a part of the company’s ninth annual Month of Giving initiative.
Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving sees store locations throughout the country donating to local charities. As the Bay Area’s beneficiary, the CSFA Historical Society will use donations to help fund scholarships for children of California firefighters. The organization also supports a traditional bagpipe band that is called upon to play at the funerals of fallen firefighters, and sponsors an annual Medal of Valor ceremony that honors acts of extreme heroism.
According to a statement released by Jersey Mike’s representatives, since 2010 the company has raised more than $34 million and distributed more than 2 million free sub sandwiches to help a wealth of local charities through its Month of Giving Initiative.
Tri-Valley Jersey Mike’s locations that will be donating sales to the CSFA include: Danville, 301 Hartz Ave.; Dublin, 3740 Fallon Road #660; and Pleasanton, 6654 Koll Center Parkway.
