San Ramon Regional Medical Center names Wendy Sirivar Chief Nursing Officer

Sirivar to be tasked with managing hospital's nursing units

Nurses are known by many as the lifeblood of any hospital, and to keep the circulation flowing at San Ramon Regional Medical Center, hospital officials have selected Wendy Sirivar to serve as its new Chief Nursing Officer, effective immediately.

Sirivar will be tasked with overseeing the nursing population at San Ramon Regional, as well as the hospital’s quality and infection control departments.

“Wendy is a wonderful addition to our executive team,” Ann Lucena, CEO of San Ramon Regional, said in a statement. “She has proven her ability to develop strong teams that provide superior patient care and service excellence. Her leadership will help us continue to deliver on our vision of being a community built on care.”

Sirivar is expected to hit the ground running after serving as the hospital’s interim Chief Nursing Officer for the past three months. Prior to this appointment she has served as the director of the emergency department, a position she held since 2015, according to hospital officials.

She began her career as an emergency room staff nurse at a large pediatric and adult trauma center in Colorado. San Ramon Regional officials said before joining the hospital Sirivar was located within the Sutter Health System in San Francisco, where she “filled a variety of leadership roles.”

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Colorado University and a Masters in Healthcare Administration, with a specialization in Organizational Leadership, from Colorado State University.
