Harringtons set for final Pleasanton art walk of year

Free, two-hour tour includes public and private artwork in downtown

Nancy and Gary Harrington from the Harrington Art Partnership are hosting their final public art walk of 2018 this Saturday in the downtown area.

The Harringtons have led art enthusiasts on free, informative tours of art sculptures and murals -- public art, and private -- while sharing stories about the pieces and the artists throughout the year.

The walk will take place from about 9-11 a.m. Saturday, starting outside the council chambers at the Pleasanton Civic Center at 200 Old Bernal Ave. The tour will include artwork at the Pleasanton Public Library, Civic Park, Centennial Park, Veterans Memorial Building and two business locations.

The Harringtons will also talk about their art partnership and how businesses, clubs, organizations, and individuals can assist in bringing more public art to Pleasanton. Free art walk brochures, with maps, will be distributed.

Saturday will mark the last of the Harringtons' four-month series this year. The 2019 art walk series will begin in March.

For more information, call the Harringtons at 846-9757.
