Tri-Valley watercolorist Robin Purcell's landscape paintings have been selected by four prestigious art organizations for their juried exhibits across the country.
Purcell excels in local scenes, especially Mount Diablo.
"I am inspired by mountains and hills of every size," Purcell said. "Looking up to a summit or down and across our beautiful bay lifts my spirit."
Her painting titled "Curry Point November" will be on exhibit at the Salmagundi Club in New York from April 4-28. The American Impressionist Society National Small Works at the Greenhouse Gallery in Cinncinati, Ohio, from March 23 to April 21, will include her "Peak near the Eiger."
The California Watercolor Society's Annual National Exhibit had Purcell's "Blue Ridge," painted on North Gate, Mount Diablo, on display at the Marin Society of Artists through Jan. 31. And the annual Signature American Watermedia Exhibit in Fallbrook in San Diego County, running Feb. 3 to April 15, has selected her "Just Below Junction," painted on Mount Diablo.
"I feel lucky to live near the open spaces of Mt. Diablo State Park," Purcell said. "Ever changing light, color and shapes present a constant challenge and make me grow as an artist."
