Wines & Valentines to benefit Museum on Main

Fundraiser features three-course dinner at Castlewood Country Club

Love is in the air as Museum on Main prepares for its 11th annual Wines & Valentines fundraiser at Castlewood Country Club, beginning at 6 p.m., next Friday (Feb. 9).

"Many guests return year after year for the great food and wine," said Jim DeMersman, executive director for the museum. "But they also love the 2-bit auction, a fast-paced live auction where guests can win prizes for the equivalent of 2-bits, equal to one quarter."

The night begins with a cocktail hour with sparkling wine, a no-host bar and a silent auction. The doors to the dining room open at 7 p.m. for a three-course dinner, with a choice of filet mignon, Covina sea bass or vegetable risotto, served with appropriate wines for each course.

Between each course, a round of the traditional 2-bit auction will take place for guests to bet quarters on a wide variety of small prizes. A special game of Heads or Tails will lead into a spirited live auction. The evening concludes with a drawing for more than a dozen items contributed by community members.

Tickets are $95 per person and may be purchased online at www.museumonmain.org; at Museum on Main, 603 Main St., during regular operating hours; or by calling 462-2766.

This year's Sweetheart Sponsor is the Republic Family of Companies, and the general sponsor is the LISI Corp.
